Representing Decimals

Lesson

There are three ways to represent decimals. You will learn how to represent decimals in word form, standard form, and expanded form.
Decimals are made up of whole numbers and parts of a whole number. The whole number is on the left side of the decimal. The parts of a whole or the fraction is on the right side of the decimal. The number farthest to the right of the decimal has the smallest value. The number farthest to the left of the decimal is the biggest in value.
